Mallozzi | Sam and Kevin Wedding | Jay Zhang Photography

Its amazing what memories come flooding back when I’m creating these blogs and it just reminds me that I love doing this because I love storytelling. Sam and Kevin have been waiting for this day for a while and we definitely talked over the logistics of the day to death on how it was going to go down because THIS WEEKEND WAS MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND. Why was this important? Well…

Albany NY has a Tulip Festival Every Year at Washington Park and the traffic NOTORIOUSLY gets pretty backed up with everyone from all over the capital district and beyond coming in for the annual Tulip Fest. This group of people though? Super Fun, super low key, and were open to all my logistical ideas on how we can definitely get everything they wanted in the day. We were going to make it happen, no ifs ands or buts!

Sam loves to laugh, and Kevin loves to be funny, perfect combination. Sam is super organized and on top of things (My Fav type of people), and Kevin is a soft spoken and poignant person who thinks through things. I only imagine the things going on in his head when hes just staring and its minutes before Sam is about to walk out of the room and down the aisle at the church, kind of like that equation meme.

The day starts with Sam ready to have me document her details, get in her dress and get things rolling, but you could tell she was a little nervous. I had her maid of honor(s) help me move things around to give her the best options for photos in their apartment, a beautiful last memory now that they’ve closed on a home at this point (CONGRATS!). Note: They were going to need to pack up the apartment by the end of the month so that they can move out and move into the new home, nothing like being on the go!

As always Dad’s first look was a tear jerker and mom was emotional helping her with the dress. Kevin and his crew were having some fun and keeping things easy going on his side and when it was time to get everyone on the trolley, that’s when I went to the church to prepare for the ceremonial part of the day. As suspected, things were running a little behind but I always put in buffer time in order to anticipate set backs.

The ceremony set up was gorgeous and beautiful and the weather was just PERFECT for photos afterwards. Everyone was excited to be there to have some fun and you could tell that all they wanted to do, was party with their loved ones, and BOY DID THEY PARTY. I kind of wanted this day to repeat itself again.
